Our History
What we do?
Welcome to Industrial Optimum Solutions & Services (IOSS), a trusted name in Reliability Engineering for over a decade. Established in 2009 by Harout Arslanian, IOSS is committed to revolutionizing industries through our innovative approach to condition-based and predictive/prescriptive maintenance services.
Harout’s immersion in heavy industrial maintenance began at a young age, owing to his family’s role as the SKF representative in Beirut, Lebanon since 1993. His father, Krikor Arslanian, served as his mentor, laying the groundwork for his future career.
Harout further expanded his knowledge by earning a Mechanical Engineering degree from Oxford Brookes University in 2004. This achievement was complemented by a valuable internship at SKF Luton. Several key influencers marked his journey, including his mentors, Mr. Theodoros Panayiotopoulos from SLT Cyprus, who instilled wisdom and critical thinking skills, and Mr. Vartan Vartanian, Senior Advisor to the CEO at SKF, who guided him on the future of smart factories, innovations in industrial service markets, including the utilization of Big Data and AI. Furthermore, the influential SKF engineers, Mr. Samir Kalisse and Mr. Mohammad Moslemany from SKF MENA, significantly shaped the reliability field in the Middle East region and played essential roles in Harout’s career development.
Inspired by firsthand experiences of machinery failures and the potential of condition monitoring services at SKF UK, Harout recognized a pressing need for reliable, condition-based, and predictive maintenance services in the industry. He fervently pursued this path, refining his expertise in diverse fields such as mechanical and electrical signal processing and analysis, vibration signal analysis, ultrasonic testing, thermography, laser alignment, and dynamic balancing.
Harout’s dedication to his craft led him to achieve ISO Cat I to Cat IV certifications in vibration analysis from Technical Associates of Charlotte. Under the guidance of industry guru, Mr. Jim Berry, President of Technical Associates of Charlotte, he attained Cat IV in 2011, marking him as one of the first certified engineers globally and a pioneer in his region.
Harout’s educational journey didn’t end there – he amassed an impressive array of certifications, including ODS & Modal analysis, Infrared Thermography, Mechanical Failure Analysis, Bearing Technologies, Industrial Lubrication, and Steam & Condensate loop design and analysis by Spirax Sarco UK. In 2016, his unwavering commitment to excellence was acknowledged when he earned the Certified Reliability Leader certification from the Association of Asset Management Professionals.
These accomplishments set the foundation for IOSS, which became one of the first SKF Certified Maintenance Partners globally in 2010. Over the years, IOSS has saved industries millions of dollars, illustrating that predictive and preventative maintenance is not merely a strategy, but a crucial investment for the longevity of machinery and overall business viability.
Recognizing the need for his services beyond Lebanon, Harout expanded his business to Cyprus, Armenia, and Syria, serving numerous heavy industries, including cement, carton, and power plants, among others.
In response to the crisis in Lebanon in 2020, Harout made a strategic investment in the United States, launching IOSS USA in Los Angeles, California in 2022. He is currently expanding his business both within California and across multiple states with high potential for heavy industrial maintenance.
An exciting development on the horizon for IOSS USA is the imminent launch of a reinvented machine health monitoring system. This cutting-edge technology uses wireless sensors connected to advanced deep learning and AI analysis tools, signifying the future of predictive maintenance. Both the hardware and software for this innovative system have been developed in-house by IOSS since late 2019 and are set to be launched soon in the global market.
Our mission at IOSS is to provide solutions that enhance the reliability and efficiency of industrial operations while reducing downtime and costs. We aspire to set the benchmark for quality, service, and technical expertise in the reliability engineering industry.
